What we collect when you order, why we collect it, and who else sees it. It is a short page because we collect very little.

Who we are

This site is run by Platter Healthy Food Meals Company, a restaurant in Kuwait. Where this page says “we”, that is who it means.

You can browse the entire menu without telling us anything. We only ask for details when you actually place an order.

What we collect when you place an order

  • Your name — so we can call it out when the food is ready.
  • Your Kuwait mobile number — so the counter can reach you about that order.
  • What you ordered: the items, the options you chose, quantities, any note you left for the kitchen, and the total in KD.
  • The language you ordered in, so staff know how to greet you.
  • The time you ordered, and the short order code (for example A047) you show at the counter.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for your address, your email address, your date of birth, or anything else.

Your card details never reach us

If you choose to pay online, we hand you over to MyFatoorah, our payment provider. Your card number, expiry date, CVV and KNET PIN are typed on MyFatoorah's own secure page. They do not pass through this site, we never see them, and there is nowhere in our database they could be stored.

To start the payment we send MyFatoorah your name, your mobile number, the amount, and our internal order number. What comes back is a payment reference, the amount paid, and whether it succeeded. That reference is what lets us match your payment to your order — and refund it if the order is cancelled.

MyFatoorah is a licensed payment provider and handles your card data under its own privacy policy.

What we use it for

  • Preparing your order and handing it to you at the counter.
  • Contacting you about that specific order — if something you chose has run out, or your food is ready and waiting.
  • Matching an online payment to your order, and refunding it if the order is cancelled.
  • Counting how many orders are still open on your number, so a repeated tap on a bad connection cannot turn into three of the same meal.
  • Adding up the day's sales for the restaurant's own books. Those totals are amounts and item counts — they do not single you out.

What we never do

  • We do not sell, rent, or hand your details to anyone for their own purposes.
  • We do not run advertising trackers and we do not follow you around other websites.
  • We do not build a profile of you, and we do not link your orders to anything outside this site.

Marketing messages

Today your mobile number is used for one thing only: handling your order. We do not send offers, promotions or updates, and there is no mailing list.

That may change one day. If we ever start sending promotional messages, they will be opt-in only: you will be asked to agree explicitly at checkout, and declining will never affect your order, your price, or your place in the queue. Placing an order is not, by itself, permission to market to you.

Consent given that way can be withdrawn at any time — tell us using the contact details at the bottom of this page and the messages stop, no reason needed. None of this touches the promise above about never selling or renting your details: that one is absolute, whatever you consent to.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views — roughly how many people opened the menu, and which pages they reached. It records aggregate counts only: no cookies, no device fingerprinting, and no identifier that follows you to another site. It is not connected to your order in any way.

What is stored on your device

Three small values live in your own browser rather than on our servers. None of them is an advertising cookie, and none is sent to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes all three.

  • platter-cart (local storage) — the basket you are building, so a refresh or a stray back-swipe does not lose it. It is emptied once your order is confirmed.
  • platter-last-order (local storage) — your order's reference and its short code, kept for six hours so you can find your number again if the tab disappears. No name, no phone number, no total.
  • platter-welcomed (session storage) — a single flag remembering that you have already seen the welcome screen. It is gone when you close the tab.

Where it is kept

Orders are stored in a PostgreSQL database managed by Supabase, hosted in Sydney, Australia. The site itself runs on Vercel. Both are hosting providers acting on our instructions, and neither uses your order details for its own purposes.

As with any website, our host keeps short-lived server logs that record the IP address a request came from. We do not use those logs to identify customers.

Who can see your order

Staff working the counter see the live order board: your name, your mobile number, and what you ordered. That is what the job needs, and it is all their account can reach — a counter tablet cannot delete an order or open the sales records. The owner can see past orders and sales totals in the back office.

Your order status page is reachable by anyone who has its link, so treat it the way you would a receipt. It shows that one order's items and status, it does not show your phone number, and it cannot be used to find anybody else's order.

How long we keep it

Orders stay in our records as the restaurant's account of what was sold and paid for. There is no automatic deletion schedule.

If you would rather your name and mobile number were removed from your past orders, email us and we will delete them. We keep the impersonal part — what was sold, for how much — because that is our own sales record.

Asking us about your data

Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your name and number. Please include the order code and the mobile number you used, so we can find the right order.

Changes to this policy

If any of this changes, we update this page and the date at the top of it.
